Default why does Outlook assign times to birthdays

I have Outlook 2000. The scheduled dates (holidays, birthdays etc.) are
given a time by the program causing the date to span a two day period. (a
birthday is scheduled for 0900 16 Feb until 1600 17 Feb.). I can't control
this activity and for some reason the dates frequently have multiple entries
( Tax day is listed 3 times)

May be a time zone issue. Check the Windows clock and the Outlook calendar
clock to make sure the calendar agrees both in time zone and in DST
settings.
