Is there a way to create new templates for the Calendar Printing Assistant?
I'm looking for a really plain monthly view. I hate the default ones with the number in the center of each day. When you print it, the appointments are impossible to read. Thanks. |

I assume you've already tried customizing the fonts and that sort of thing in
the built-in templates? If so and that doesn't help, I'm not sure there is anything else you can do, at least with the CPA. The template files are supposedly XML-based, so if you know anything about XML perhaps you could open one of the templates and examine it to see how it works. You can also find some other calendar printing tools (some of which are free) listed he http://www.slipstick.com/addins/calendar_print.asp -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "RNW" wrote: Is there a way to create new templates for the Calendar Printing Assistant? So I can change the font, bullet color, theme color, but that doesn't really
help make it more readable because I can't get rid of that number in the middle of each cell. I tried to open one of the .catx templates with MS's XML Notepad 2007, but it gives an error. |

Sorry...guess you'll have to try one of the other solutions I pointed you to,
then. I agree with you, though, it's silly to have those huge numbers right in the middle... -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "RNW" wrote: So I can change the font, bullet color, theme color, but that doesn't really help make it more readable because I can't get rid of that number in the middle of each cell. The calx files are easy to open, but tough to customize.
Simply rename it to be a .zip file, and then "extract" it. You'll have all the xml files contained within one calx file. Once there, you can start going to town editing various files. It's a trial-and-error process, but you can have super-granular control over the entire process.
