Default problem in Outlook calendar: message reads: 'could not save item'

This is very irritating, and I have to reboot each time! (Using MS Office
Professional 2003).

I THINK (but can't be sure) that it is related to another problem in which
the computer won't shut down properly. Whenever the OUtlook problem occurs,
the rebooting problem recurs and I have to start up simply by switching off
the computer at the power supply!

Any clues?? I am really very irritated by this....it's intermittent but
happens often enough to annoy me intensely when I can't save items in the
calendar!

Help please!

Hello Bill
thanks for replying. To the best of my knowledge, Service Pack 2 is
installed. I will check.
