Default How do I stop outlook from autamatically deleting calender items

My outlook calender empties after two months i.e. It is august now so any
items I had in my calendar in june and before are no longer there. My auto
archiving is not the problem as I am not aut archiving any thing.

Normally archiving is the only thing that automatically removes things from
folders. I'm sure you checked but you might want to double check the
archiving properties for the Calendar folder. Also, are you noting the items
missing since days on the calendar no longer go bold on busy days? That's
normal also since Outlook only bolds a bit into the past as an optimization

Autoarchiving is the only way Outlook has for automatically removing data
from your calendar. RIght-click the calendar folder, choose Properties,
select the AutoArchive tab. WHat settings do you see?

Vince and Brian - thank you for the input. Here is the setup:

1. Auto - archive is set to archive previous to 3/1/07. calendar is included
in that setup.

2. familar with the bolding - that's not the issue, there is simply nothing
there, but my delete folder fills up with the previous entries.

Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance for any additional input.

Jay

I'm suddenly having the same problem. Did you find a fix?

Outlook doesn't delete calendar items automatically unless you configured it
to do so with autoarchive and I already explained how to check for that.

I got all settings to Do Not Auto Archive. But any non-recurring appointment
older than 3 weeks disappear from the calendar & I find them in the deleted
box.

Then you have something programmed to do that. Outlook will _not_ do that
on its own.

How can I determine what it is? I didn't change or reset or add anything ...
just went to Outlook last week & started clearing my deleted file & saw all
the old app'ts in there.

I'd start with the COM Add-ins and Add-In Manager dialogues, then proceed to
the Rules and Alerts Wizard.
