I want the three week view also. Or two week, or how ever many weeks one
selects in the first place, one should get the same displayed again after checking his mail. This is very useful for short term planning, as in more than 3 week display the appointments on each day get far less space than in 2 week or 3 week display. If you are like me and like to keep track of many events, some of them lasting more than one day, then for sure you use the 2 week / 3 week display on the calendar. It is very annoying to have to select it again and again each time you check the email or tasks. Microsoft should fix this "Gordon" wrote: "Kathi McGraw" wrote in message ... This is EXACTLY what's been driving me bonkers! I want to open Outlook and have it default to a 3-week display. I don't think you can. I would agree with others in this thread. Customizing the Month view where
it defaults to two or three weeks at a time would be extremely beneficial and is something Microsoft should look into. I am thankful to have found the fix in these posts about at least temporarily changing the view. I too would vote for a more permanent option, though. "Brian Tillman" wrote: J Graham J wrote: any fix to this yet? the three week view is great but it's a pita to re-select the dates in the date navigator everytime i re-load the calendar. there must be a workaround??? I doubt there will ever be a "fix" and why do you contend there "must" be a workaround? As fas as I know, there is not. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

This is what's been driving me crazy too!!!
I would like to change the monthly view so that it starts up with the first row (at the top of the monthly view) containing today's date week, then the next 4-5 weeks are shown below this week. Microsoft should fix this so that anyone could change it the way they like it... The Website with the solution (www.slipstick.com/tutorials/2wk_cal/2wk_cal.htm) is not available. Is there any other workaround?? I'm glad to hear Microsoft is looking into this. I'm using Outlook 2007 and
am also looking for a way to do the following: 1. Set the number of weeks (number of rows of weeks) displayed in a Day/Week/Month view, which is the main request in this thread. 2. Set which row number the current week is displayed on. So, for instance, if I want to see last week, the current week, and the following two weeks, I would set the "number of weeks to display" as 4 and the "current week shows on row" to 2. 3. Hide appointments from overlaid calendars if I'm one of the attendees. I overlay my manager's calendar on mine, and as Outlook 2007 currently works, this causes all appointments in which we're both participants to display twice - once on my calendar, and again on his calendar. This is appropriate in side-by-side view, but not in overlay view. While this does provide the information that both of us are attending, but uses up precious calendar space. Better to do something like split shading, or allow the user to select which calendar's shading is used for duplicates, or a list of colored stripes on the left or right side of the appointment which shows each calendar the appointment is tied to. I'm generally a big fan of Microsoft because they provide a lot of options so that users can make their products work the way they want them to. However, there are still useful options missing from Outlook (and the other Office apps) even as mature as they are. These are some of the ones related to the Calendar. Is there a page where Microsoft lists all of the feature requests they've received so that users can vote on them and comment on details? I know each product has a blog and that the developers read them and consider the input their customers provide in that forum, but a moderated list of features which users can easily browse and vote on would be very helpful. I'm with these folks. Absolutely maddening not to be able to see more than 2 items per day because the month view has so many weeks. I also contend that there should be some work around for this because it's obviously making users unhappy. I understand that businesses don't run on 3-week months, but neither do I. This isn't about how many weeks are in a month, it's about being able to see your appointments better without having to be limited to just 1 week or having to choose the 3-week view every time you open the calendar. There should at least be SOME option for choosing other views besides 1 week or a 5 or 6-week month. Just seems commonsensical to me, and apparently, plenty of other people.
