Default Sorting Recurring and One-time Appointments in List View

I can't find a way to sort both recurring and non-recurring all-day
appointments (birthdays, travel days, etc.) by the date of the event or the
next recurrance date, depending on which type it is. Recurring appointments
use the original date as [Start], so that doesn't work. I can create a
user-defined field to replace the original year with the current one for
recurring appointments, but it won't sort on that.

This seems to be a logical way to view all upcoming events, what am I
missing here?

Thanks,
Phillip

The only way to view logically all upcoming events including recurring ones
(in Calendar) is to look at it in a traditional Calendar view eg Monthly or
weekly. As each recurring item is a single entry, when you View as a table,
you see that appointment only once.
