Default How can I see if an appointment is "marked as private"?

I can see the icon, but have no idea which colour of it means it is checked.
Why on earth the very much clearer check-box, also reachable with a fantastic
keyboard short-cut (alt-P) has been removed is beyond me. It is one of the
hundreds of immensely frustrating changes from 2003 to 2007.

Among the many lunacies (particularly for keyboard, i.e. fast, minimum
mouse, users) of the new Office 2007 suite are the removal of simplified
options to enter information. I could write a long list, and will give one
example, which is the impossibility of using the keyboard to categorize an
Outlook item in more than one category without massively increasing key, or
mouse-click, steps. Ideas for that, if anyone has them, would be most welcome
(I've figured out the key strokes, but am infuriated at having to repeat them
multiple times).
