I am new to this, so here goes. I want to create a table view in my calendar
that is sorted by start date - by category. And, I am getting 2007 appts.
when I only want to see 2008.

you can create a view that filters out older appointments. Create a filter
using the advanced tab with a start date on or after 1/1/2008.
