Default Outlook 2000 and iCal -- am I out of luck?

My office still uses Outlook 2000. Is it possible to sync Outlook 2000 with
iCal apps like Google Calendar? All the syncing utilities I have encountered
seem to specify that Outlook 2003 is the oldest version that they will
support.

In most cases, no, but you can always try downloading the calendar file and
importing it.

I just thought it was curious that all the utilities seemed to specify
Outlook 2003 as the minimum supported. Did iCal support first get added in
Outlook 2003? Or is there some other important feature that dates from that
version?

Older versions don't handle multiple event ics files well - they'll import
just the first item.
