Default How do I keep a declined meeting on my calendar?

My calendar is a moving target. One day I may need to decline a meeting due
to a priority conflict, the next day the conflict may resolve it self and
then I can attend. I can't keep track of all the meetings I may decline due
to this. Is there a way to keep the meeting on the calendar, but still send
a delcine so the organizer knows I am not planning to attend?

We refer to that as "Tentative".

Do not accept or decline until you know beyond a doubt whether or not you'll
be able to attend. it will remain on your calendar as tentative.
Alternatively, create a second calendar folder and copy the item to it.
Accept or decline as you wish. If you find out things change later, you can
get the item from the secondary calendar folder and copy it to your main
calendar.
