It seems like everytime I edit an appointment & save, outlook turns it into a
recurring event - no matter what I do to try & delete the recurrence, it just keeps coming back so I end up deleting the entry & starting over. Needless to say this is getting very old & frustrating - is this happening to anyone else??. Windows Vista Business MS Outlook 2007 SP1 MSO system all current on available updates -- KMAS |

New Dell PC?
Recurring Calendar event - Graeme 27-Dec-06 09:01:01 I think I have found the solution to the problem (it works on my machine). I found, on one of the Dell forums, a posting about performance problems with Outlook after importing Contact, Task and Calendar (with recurring appointments) from another version of Outlook. I had suffered with this problem and had restored my machine to its original factory state, prior to noticing the recurrence problem. The poster then said he found a preinstalled program called "outlookaddinsetup" which he uninstalled and his problem was resolved. Well sure enough I had the same program installed and I took a chance and uninstalled it and the recurrence problem has gone!!! (I have to say I have no idea what the program is supposed to do though). I would be interested to know if this fix works for anyone else. relatively new Vostro - almost 1 year old, BUT have had the motherboard
replaced twice since April and they used the original system disks - would that have caused this since I am sure it wasn't doing from day one, but then maybe it has, all I know is that I am about ready to throw it against the wall if i ever have to modify an event I do see the outlookaddinsetup installed and will uninstall -- KMAS "Bob I" wrote: New Dell PC? You are most welcome! My understanding is there is some bug in the
"Dell" addin that causes it. Kath wrote: I unintstalled & relaunched outlook & modified several events WITHOUT truning into recurring events. THANK YOU! so what is p with that software, what would be the rationale behind turing evertying into a recurrence? |
