Default not able to click in calendar item

in my office calendar, i am able to click on the message and use my arrow
keys on the keyboard to read the entire message. Of course you can double
click it and it opens up and you can read the message. well i have a co
worker that, when he clicks in the message and uses the arrow keys it takes
him to a new calendar day it wont let him look at the message. i know this
is annoying but that co-worker has to know why ? how can i change his to do
this?
