Default Exceptions to Recurring Meetings

I have 3 recurring meetings that I want to invite our entire staff to for the
coming year. For each of these meetings, there are a few exceptions to the
regular recurrence. I can easily make these exceptions by deleting or
dragging and dropping meetings that need to be moved to a different time,
HOWEVER, when I go to send out an invite to the meeting, each recipient gets
not just one invite to each recurring meeting, but also several "Canceled"
and "Updated" meeting notices. What can I do to prevent this?
