We recently changed over to Outlook for all of our mail/calendaring needs here at work. We are using 2003 version.
The problem we're having is scheduling resources (ie meeting rooms) for monthly and yearly recurring meetings. (Daily & weekly seem to work fine.) For example: I have a meeting that is held from 10-11 a.m. every second Thursday of each month. I can enter it just fine, but the resource I'm trying to schedule the meeting in always declines it. This is the message I get: Your meeting request was declined This resource can only be scheduled during the working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Is there something wrong with how the resource was set up? or is there some sort of permissions that would allow monthly and yearly recurring meetings? I am not the Exchange Admin, so I can't make any changes myself, but I would sure appreciate anything I can pass on to the person who can fix this. (We meeting schedulers have been trying to figure this one out for about a month now.) Thank you in advance! |

You'll need to ask your Exchange administrator. It sounds like you might have
Exchange 2007 on the back end. It has options to restrict who can book resources when. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook 2007 Programming: Jumpstart for Power Users and Administrators http://www.outlookcode.com/article.aspx?id=54 "ner188" wrote: We recently changed over to Outlook for all of our mail/calendaring needs here at work. It's possible the resource is configured to reject recurring meetings.

Problem is, my exchange administrator is far from being an Outlook guru and I can't seem to get any answers from him.
I think you're right about us having Exchange 2007 on the back end, mainly because he's mentioned upgrading all of our PCs to Outlook 2007. He's already upgraded one used by us meeting schedulers, but she still can't schedule recurring meetings if they recur monthly or yearly. Quote:
