Every time I add a new appointment, it automatically sets the time as Busy.
I don't like this. I want it to alway set time to Free, unless I change it. Is that possible? |

Only by creating a custom form with Free selected, publishing it then
setting it as the default form. If you need steps to do this, see http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/publish_form.htm http://www.outlook-tips.net/archives/2004/20040524.htm If you need more assistance, we need to know the version of outlook. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. Wow, that was completey foreign to me. I have no Idea what a form is and
what you were talking about. Is it hard to do? I have Outlook 2007 and Windows Vista. It's actually quite easy.
1. Open a new appointment form 2. Go to the Office Orb, Editor options. 3. Click Show Developer tab in Ribbon 4. Set the time to Free. 5. Click on the Developer Tab. 6. Publish, Publish form as… if you have just one Calendar you want to use this form in, publish it to the location that opened - this is the easiest. Otherwise, select Personal forms library from the Look in drop down. To use the form: 1. Right click on the Calendar folder 2. Choose Properties. 3. In the "When posting to this folder" dropdown, select the new form. 4. If you published it to the personal forms library, you need to click Forms and add it to the folder. If you want to use this form in multiple calendars, repeat these steps for each folder. Now when you click New, the form you created will be used. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. In the absence of the custom form Diane mentions, keep in mind that timed events always show busy and all-day events always show free unless you manually change the setting. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
