Default Outlook 2007 - some reminders are missing from the To-Do Bar

OS: Vista Home Premium
Outlook 2007

This is a recent problem since everything worked until this morning. I
haven't added or removed anything from Outlook or Office. My To-Do Bar is
only displaying some of my appointments. That is, if I have separate alarms
set for, say, Oct 4, 7, 10 and 12, it is only displaying the Oct 4 and 10
reminders. There is no rhyme or reason to what is displayed and what is not.

1.None of these items are recurring ones or all day events.

2. I do not have more than one calendar.

3. I am not using Exchange, everything is stored on my computer.

4. I have tried running outlook /cleanreminders and outlook /resetfolders.
Nothing changes.

Any other suggestions? Many thanks.

Thanks for your reply.

No, I am not syncing a PDA or iPhone.

Having investigated this problem a bit more, I've noticed that one of the
events missing starts on the afternoon of one day and ends at 1AM the next,
so it is not an all day event, but it does overlap two dates.

I assume that Outlook 2007, for some reason, can't handle the display of
that type of event? That is disappointing if it is true. Is there a workout
for this flaw?

As long as the event is less than 24 hours, it will display even if it
crosses two days. If it extends more than 24 hours, its an all day event and
will not display on the to-do bar.

thanks for your reply.

Is there a workaround for this? Any long distance flight, say to Europe,
will generally cover more than a day and if you cross the International Date
Line, say to New Zealand, the flight might even span two days without really
being a 24-hour event.

I can see where this might be important for any company that needs to do
business in Asia or Australia.

No, not really. The best you can do is make an appointment for the beginning
and one for the end. if it exceeds 48 hrs, make one for the middle so your
time shows as busy.

Yes, I guess that is one way of doing it. It's not a very satisfying work
around, but it does avoid this strange implementation. Thanks.

I wonder how you can suggest to Microsoft that this feature needs
correction. I've noticed that others have had the same problem.

Cheers!

it is on the list of changes considered in the next version, I don't expect
to see it changed in outlook 2007.
