Default Outlook 2007 calendar backgraound colours

I've just upgraded from 2003 to 2007 and am getting used to the change
from labels to coloured categories OK. But what makes my month view
calendar look really confusing is the background colours that are
applied to each date.
I've figured out that by default alternating months are white & light
bue with days marked as out of the office being light purple and dark
purple on the alternating months. My calendar is now a rash of colours
which are just totally confusing to the eye. Is there any way of
changing these defaults - just keeping them the same from month to
month would be a big help - I can work out for myself when one month
ends and the next begins.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

No. The only thing you can control is the overall color - pick a new one in
tools, options, calendar options - and patchwork colors caused by assigning
a color category to all day events.
