I have a problem that occurs intermittently. If I set a reminder for 11 AM in
the morning, a reminder window will pop up earlier on that day - I don't know exactly when because it pops up as soon as I log in. If I open the task and change it to a later time and save it, it still pops up again. I assume it must be a user error but I cannot figure it out. Any ideas? Thanks. |

It's not user error unless you are setting the reminder for xx hours before
the appointment or task is due. Assuming you set the reminder for 11AM - is there a pattern in the time difference? Ie, its always 1 hr ahead? -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. No, there does not seem to be a pattern. I am intrigued about your comment
"setting the reminder for xx hours before the appointment or task is due". I was not aware that this was possible. I may be doing it unintentionally. How do you do it? I set a reminder by setting the date and the time of day in the appropropriate boxes next to "Reminder". The only way it could be user error is if you are setting appointments, not
tasks - hence the pattern question. Tasks are not set for a specific time but the reminder is set for a specific time - you can't create a task for 11 am but the reminder can be set for 11 am. Appointment reminders are set for a period of time before the appointment - ie, the appointment is for 11 AM and the reminder is for 1 hour before (at 10 AM). -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. Diane, Thanks for your explanation. I guess I definitely still have the
problem. It is definitley a task. I did set it for 11AM and it was reminding me well before 11. Any other ideas? This has heppened with other tasks but I cannot discern a pattern.
