Default Calendars have disappeared

Note: this question is double-posted here and in "General Questions".

New Outlook 2003 user though I have had the program for some time-- came
with MS Office. Started the MS Outlook online training today and did not get
far ... the instructions say to click the "DAY" button on the toolbar to get
a day view of the calendar. There is no "DAY" button on any of the toolbars,
visible or hidden. In fact, there is no longer any calendar of any kind in
any view. I swear that I just made a calendar a week ago and printed it
out-- am looking at it now.

Either I have torned off or deleted a whole lot of calendar features or the
gremlins have got me. Thank you in advance for any help unless your
suggestion is to uninstall & reinstall in which case I will put my fingers in
my ears and say "la la la la la" until you go away.

If you press Control+6 do you see all of your folders? If yes, select the
Calendar folder and try again.

You can also press Control+2 to display your calendar folder(s) only rather
than all folders.

Thank you for your time. I will refrain from multi-posting. My version is
Outlook 2003 that came with MS Office.

When I do as you recommend, all I can conjure is a list of holidays from
Jan. 1, 2006 to Dec. 31, 2011. I assume this is an Outlook Calender Template
Tool that comes with the program for setting up personal calendars since I
did not create it. It also tells me that only part of the calendar section
has gone missing. Or perhaps I have inadvertantly "locked it away"? I do
not recall assigning any password or fiddling with any privacy/security
functions. All I have done is make a sample calendar one time and then print
it out. It worked fine. Now it is all missing.

In addition, I have searched all folders in Outlook, Recycle Bin, and I
performed several global searches for relevent criteria, such as "file name"
and "file contains (unique string)". Nada, zip, zilch. I guess Outlook has
slipped a cog or I have thrown a stick in the spokes-- unless you know of
something else to try.

I do have one other question: As I was performing global searches for "file
contains [unique string]", it occurred to me that perhaps Outlook "documents"
are not automatically included in such a search. Is that true? Or can one
"flip a switch" somewhere to allow XP to search in the Outlook feifdom for a
unique string?

Thanks again.

Do yourself a favor and right click in your toolbar area and enable the
Advanced Toolbar. Then switch to your calendar folder and use the dropdown
to change the view to Day/Week/Month view.

Does this solve your issue?
