transfrred email from yahoo but cant find calendar option on express to keep
meetings up to date

Outlook Express doesn't have a calendar.
XP presumably?
Try Mozilla Thunderbird (looks very similar to OE) which has a very good
Calendar add-in.

And in fact there's a stand-alone version of the Calendar so you don't need
Thunderbird:
