Default Not show date on calendar, yet notate it?

How do I remove an item from SHOWING on the calendar, yet still have the info
there?

For example, I have friends' birthdays listed and they have a CATEGORY
(Friend-Birthday) attached to each of them. This way I can quickly list all
my friends birthdays and sort as needed. But, I don't want their birthdates
to actually SHOW in my calendar. Is this possible?

You could filter the calendar folder view not to show that category.
