Default Outlook 2007 alternate month shading

I don't recall alternate months in the "Month" being shaded before I
installed US holidays. The current month is white but previous and following
alternate moths are shaded in the default calendar color. I hate my calendar
looking like a preschooler's drawing in crayon colors.
Can I change this? I can't find any option in the "Options" under tools to
do so. If not, can I at least chage the shading to a light grey rather then
the default colors?
