Default How does Calendar Auto Import synchronize with regular calendar?

Sometimes calendar items created from outside resources go to an "auto import
calendar" and other times they go to the regular Outlook calendar. When they
go to the auto import calendar is there a graceful way (I currently just
copy) to synchronize them with the regular calendar...?
