This type issue seems to be a frequent favorite - especially (or maybe
ONLY) when people sync. Outlook to "something".... another computer,
or smartphone.

I have seen reports of Win Mobile, iPhone, and other phone sync.

Perhaps the common thread is that they all use a sync. conduit that is
based on or derived from ActiveSync.
Apple licensed the ActiveSynce technology from MS, so I "assume"
yeah, I know about that that iPhone folks have similar problems -- I
know that I do...

This was also a problem synching PalmOS devices with Outlook 2007 via
Chapura PocketMirror conduits (which use Palm HotSync software and not
ActiveSync).

Chapura issued an update to (Version 4.3.1) on November 14, 2008 -- See:
http://www.chapura.com/pmstd_details_history.php that "Resolved problem
with some recurrence patterns". They must've been testing against the
Office SP2 beta, since SP2 came out in April 2009... Anyway, that fixed
it for me and I haven't seen the 12 year repeats since then.
