Default Blocked embedded images in HTML messages in OE 6 w/SP2

I have taken the time to thoroughly review the threads regarding similar
users having this familiar problem. I receive e-mails from my father that
regularly have the red x place holder for an image that was supposed to be
embedded in the forwarded e-mail I received from him. We have gone into his
security settings and unchecked the box for "Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened that could potentially be a virus", and I am still receiving
the place holder.

I truly don't believe this is on my end as receive embedded images from
other e-mails frequently. Please advise - thanks!

Look on his system and ensure that in Outlook Express, he is using HTML to
send mail and that the under Tools/Options/Send - HTML button in Mail, that
the little box "Send pictures with messages" is also checked. The problem
is almost always on the sender's end if you can receive mail from other
parties and view the images correctly.

I had him check his settings in OE and his mail format is in HTML and under
HTML settings, "send pictures with messages" is also checked. So we are
copacetic there. Any other suggestions.

If you've reviewed every one of the items mentioned at this link, then I'm
at a loss to suggest anything other than a malware infection on the
computer:

Glad to hear it. Sometimes the only way to make a change is to change an
option, then shut down Outlook Express, perhaps even reboot the computer and
reopen it setting the option again to the desired result. Why it often
works is a mystery as to why a reboot may also be required. In any case,
thanks for the feedback.
