Default extra window in preview pane

every time I look at a new e-mail, I get another small window with the
message in it. This has only started yesterday and is driving me nuts! How do
I get rid of this 2nd window, I have no idea how it got there....obviously
something in the settings???

Default extra window in preview pane

The message headers are above the message in the Preview Pane normally if
the PP is enabled. (View | Layout). Can you be more specific about what you
are seeing? Where exactly is this *other* small window?

the other small window is exactly what appears in the preview pane but its
really small, about 6cms x 10 cms and appears over the top of the preview
pane. its as if I have double clicked on a message, but I know thats not
whats happening because its happening on every message I read.

I have to be honest. This is a new on for me, so let's try something easy.

You may have a damaged identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create
a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages from the
old identity and delete it.

(FYI. I'll be going in about a half hour until morning, but others will
follow if this does not work).

thanks but I dont think that will work as the extra window appears in my

cant remember.

My guess would be a third party app. Norton, McAfee or almost any other
program not even related to A/V. Download anything new lately? Any media
programs?

If you are using XP, you could try a System Restore.

You could also try an R&R. It may work, but I have doubts it would help.

How to Reinstall or Repair IE6 and OE6:

Although written for WinXP, it works for all Windows operating systems 98 or
newer.

If you are using WinXP/SP2, and it was not already on your computer from the
factory, you will have to remove SP2 first.

I think you are talking about the preview pane. Go to View | Layout and
uncheck the box at the bottom to show the preview pane.
