I just tried (and re-tried) EVERYTHING you said in this email and I still
have a problem. When I click on a hyperlink in IE, everything works
great. If I copy the link and insert it in either Google or IE, it comes
right up. If I click on a hyperlink in an OE message, I get a lot of disk
activity but nothing happens.

snip

in my case ie7 is installed, so what does that mean? i've tried all of the
other suggestions and so far no luck.

[Control Panel Add/Remove Programs ] Set Program Access and Defaults
Browser: IE *must* be chosen here if you're running IE7 Beta 2 Preview and
want such links to work.

Beta testers of IE7 Public Preview are asked to post their comments to
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup.

That and other issues in OE when running IE7 B2P are frequently discussed in
IE General newsgroup.
