Outlook Express is my favorite email, but have temporary gone to another
because when I receive a email saying to click the address below, nothing happens. I hope I am saying this correct. IE-- I receive a email saying my order has been sent. Open the following (blue highlighted) for information. I cannot open anything that is highlighted in blue. Hope this can be corrected so I can use OE again. Thanks in advance. Bert |

You will have to copy and paste these links into IE, but they should help:
www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx www.oehelp.com/ielnk.aspx Or just go to www.oehelp.com and click on the questions that relate to links not working. steve "Old Geaser" wrote in message news ![]() Outlook Express is my favorite email, but have temporary gone to another because when I receive a email saying to click the address below, nothing happens. Hi Steve,
Before getting into the trouble. Are you located in the Seattle area? I retired 23 years ago fron a electrical contractor named Cochran Elect. By the time I retired it was a large company with offices in Seattle and 3 in Alaska. The 1st 5 years I worked with the tools and then as project manager for 20 years. My largest job was the 76 story Columbia Center building. I think I remember one of the owners had a boy named Steve. Could this be you? I may be over my head trying to fix the outlook express problem. I printed out the suggested material and it said to go to OE view or tools | File Options | File types etc. I cannot find file options in view or tools. I saw a website that shows 3 ways to repair OE. Microsoft way, and 2 others. The writer said most likley the best way is to do a XP Repair or better yet to do a complete reinstall. I at this time am not considering a complete reinstall. What I most likley will do is continue using thunderbird. Thanks for your reply Steve. Not OE | Tools. Windows Explorer | Tools...........
From: http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm If nothing happens when you click a link: Open Windows Explorer. Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types. Scroll down to {NONE} URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it. Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version. Select 'open'. Click Edit. "Application used to perform this action" should read: "C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome (Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the double quotes.) DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have: #1: "%1",,-1,0,,,, #2 IExplore #3 (blank) #4 WWW_OpenURL URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same. Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Old Geaser" wrote in message news:CIf%f.13092$gy2.13086@trnddc08... Lost ie tool bar
When I open IE 6 there is no tool bar that has edit, tools, view etc. Seems like I remember there was a way to move tool bars around. I cannot find any button that does this. I have not used ie for some time as it giving me problems with down loads. It would download files but they were corrupt. Could this have something to do with not being able to open files sent to me in oe? I sure do not want to do a reinstall of XP. Any idea how to get the tool bar back? Thanks Bert Old Geaser wrote: Outlook Express is my favorite email, but have temporary gone to another because when I receive a email saying to click the address below, nothing happens.
