Default OE mail rules-added address not working

HI,
My husband's email account is set up for one mail rule... from his
address book, but a few new addresses he's added to the "rule" don't
get filtered to the Inbox as all other addresses do.

I've deleted the mail rule and made a fresh one from his address book,
but those new addresses are still going to the deleted folder.

I've wracked my brain... Is there a limit to how many addresses you
can have in a particular mail rule?
What am I missing when we add new addresses?

Thanks,
E.

The surest way to not make a mistake it to click Reply and copy the address.
Open Message Rules | Click on the Underlined Value at the bottom and paste
it in the Select People field and make sure you click ADD or the address
will not be included in the rule.

As far as a limit, you can have a total of 4,096 entries in Rules and
Blocked Senders combined.

Default OE mail rules-added address not working

Thank You Bruce,
But, your suggestion is exactly how we add new addresses to the mail
rule people list.
It seems to be those addresses that are added after making the mail
rule..
and I don't see why it isn't working after deleting the whole rule and
making another using all the addresses in the address book... with
those addresses added at the same time.

It's only those latest addresses that aren't getting filtered.

I'll fool with it some more... thank you for your quick reply

E.

Default OE mail rules-added address not working

Either we are missing something simple, or the rules registry key is
corrupt.

Close OE and then:

1.. In Regedit, navigate to this key:

|--HKEY_CURRENT_USER
|-----Identities
|--------{GUID}
|-----------Software
|--------------Microsoft
|-----------------Outlook Express
|--------------------5.0

where GUID is the Global Unique IDentifier for your Identity.

2.. Under that key, you will find the following sub-keys, among
others:

|-----------------------Block Senders
|-----------------------Rules
|-----------------------Signatures

Select the Rules Key and delete it. Message Rules will be empty, but you can
rebuild it now when you open OE.
