Default Problem Moving Mailboxes

After returning from vacation, I tried to move mail from my laptop to my
desktop. I had stored the mail I wanted in new folders. Then I moved the
folders from my laptop into the Outlook Express folder on my desktop. I
then created new folders in my desktop Outlook Express to match the name of
the moved mailboxes. I confirmed in "properties" that the path was correct.
But when I try to open the folder on my desktop, it is empty. I confirmed
with Windows Explorer that the new folders are where they should be and they
do show that they have contents. So why can't I open the messages in these
folders?

Hi Bob,

You might check the file properties for the folders moved from the laptop to
see if the read-only attribute is set (it should not be).

Another try would be to move the (message store) folder files from the
laptop to another (temporary) folder on the desktop, and then import the
messages. The file "Folders.dbx" is required for importing.
