I have 2 mail accounts in my Outlook Express and have applied different
signatures to each in Tools/Options/Signatures. When I Create New Mail this (correctly) comes up with my default settings in the From box and with the signature for that account. However, when I change the account in the From box the signature doesn't change. I've tried everything I can think of and the only solution seems to be to change the default mail account each time which is ridiculously inefficient. I must be missing something but I can't see it so please can someone explain how I set things up so the correct signature appears for each mail account. Thanks a lot in anticipation. |

There really isn't a fix. I put the Insert Signature button on the toolbar in the compose window and then highlight the default signature and use the drop-down arrow next to that button. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM Please respond in Newsgroup. You can't do what you want with OE.
Here are your options: If creating a new message, put the cursor in the message area, Ctrl + A, Delete, insert the correct signature. Manually insert the signature. Create an Identity for each account. Keep changing the default account. -- Ron Sommer "nospaminlich" wrote in message ... I was wondering the same thing. Too bad there is no fix. I do not understand why there is even an option to store more than one signature, if you have to "recreate it manually" anyway every time you use the non-default account..geez. -- ET's PGP Public Key: http://members.aol.com/eetee/PublicKey/publickey.htm |

It's pretty simple to untick the option to include a sig on all outgoing
messages. Then add a Signature button to the Toolbar in a Compose Message window (right click Toolbar, select Customize, scroll to Insert Signature and add). After that you can have a hundred or more signatures and instead of clicking the Signature button, click the pulldown arrow to the right of it and select your desired signature. Your choice. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. I just couldn't understand why the developers would go to all the trouble of allowing users to assign sigs. to accounts (under advanced signature settings) and even spell out the fact that "only one signature my be selected for an account" and then not use the signature when that account holder creates mail...seems like a lot of wasted energy to me. -- ET's PGP Public Key: http://members.aol.com/eetee/PublicKey/publickey.htm |

Well it works for me - different sigs are entered dependant on which account I reply with. TE |
