Is there someone in Microsoft working to fix the address book issue with this
patch?
I have noticed that there are more patches this morning and for all those
people that have Auto updates switched off they might miss the new patches in
a time for other issues.
Thank you to anyone that knows.

No one's told us nothin' about 911567 (or 905474, 904942 or 900485).

Do *not* disable Automatic Updates! Instead, choose "Notify Only" If &
when 911567 is offered again, don't accept it Then click the "Don't tell
me about it again" box.

This one (WAB issue) may only have a "workaround" and not a fix. Little
information has been released, but instructions for the workaround are
expected soon. The workaround results in the loss of address book groups.

Hello PA Bear
Thanks for your post.
The problem is that you cannot open a "new mail" window or open any of your
emails in the inbox in there own window (ie double clicking on any one of
them in the inbox) with out getting an error message that says there is a
problem with the address book.
I know it is the patch that caused the problem because as soon as it was
removed OE worked again.
The error message said that there was a problem with the address book. I
borrowed a couple of other peoples address books to check and it gave the
same message.
The other KB's mentioned gave me no trouble.
Thanks SteveR

Hi Steve
Bit confused - are you speaking about the very recent patch (V2 issued
yesterday)for the patch that didn't update the other patch???
or the one issued about 11 April, that caused me and lots of others many
problems.

We're fully aware of what the problem is. Note that it's only affecting a
small minority of users. At this point, the resolution is to uninstall
911567 and don't install it again, at least not until you hear in this
newsgroup that a revised version has been released.

No one's told us /anything/ about why 911567 does this, why if only happens
to some users, what MS is going about it or when a revised version might be
released.

In short, we know as much about it as you do: Squat.

Hi Mike
Confusion reigns - well for me.
Your link, from what I can see refers to probs with the 11 April security
updates and in partic. the O.P's, and the subject of much discussion in the
newsgroups.
Kuay Tim is going on about something, I know not what, but that's my
ignorance of his terminology. He also mentions workarounds resulting in the
loss of the A.B. I know he can only answer this.
But, late last night I downloaded the update/new patch for KB911567
and O.E. is not misbehaving(YET!) for me.
Is the tone of this thread suggesting that this latest KB911567, is no good
either??
This link gives info re the latest 911567 - its dated 26 April 2006

Hi Antioch,
If you installed the update and are having no troubles forget about it.
