I have a friend running XP + OE6 and he is trying to send me a jpg. The
problem is that OE splits the original email up into 40 or more emails
all with some small attachment that is not a jpg.
It doesn't matter whether you attach or insert the jpg.
Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming your friend is using OE, have him go to Tools | Accounts | Mail |
Properties | Advanced and uncheck: "Break apart messages.......". Otherwise,
you will have to put the message back together. See: Help | Index | Combine
and Decode.

on the senders pc
tools
accounts
mail
[account name]
advanced
UNCHECK "break apart messages larger than xx" OR change xx to a larger value

for the existing mail

on the receivers pc
inbox
sort by name
select first part "1/xx"
shift select last part "xx/xx"

right click "combine and decode"
