Default OE6 print icon is greyed out ?

Print ability is always greyed out when you are in a
Compose Message Window. As Frank indicated, highlight
the portions of the *INCOMING* message you wish to
print, then click File/Print (and it will NOT be greyed
out) and on the Print menu page and in the section
marked "Page Range" there are 3 choices, All, Selection
and Pages. Put a dot in the radio button selection for
*Selection* and you will be rewarded with the sound of
printing.

When you want or need to print a message you have
composed, you must save it to the Drafts folder and
double click it there to open for Printing. You cannot
print from a new Compose Message window.

Hi Jim
You missed my original question / query.............
Which was :

Some times I need to print part of an email ** that I have
received** and recently
discovered the print icon was greyed out?

What I've done for a long time was hit reply ,deleted
the text I didnt need and often widening the gaps between
paragraphs . Hit send and printed this edited version
from the outbox . Then deleted this email
For some reason the print icon is now greyed out ( so is
the print instruction under File ) so cant do that . Only
way recently is to send this edited version to myself
then print it

I can copy and paste to a blank email / word pad etc .
Thats OK for a couple of paragraphs but not its a long
email .........

Is there a way to ungrey this icon ???????????

I just realised I left out a bit of vital info in that I
am trying to print parts of ** emails that I have
received**
My apologies

Been doing it for a long time until about 2 weeks ago

Hope you can find a solution

Bye

You may have a damaged identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create
a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages from the
old identity and delete it.

Instead of hitting send, go to File | Save. Then go to the Drafts folder
and open the message so that it is displayed in the preview pane (as Ron
indicated). When its displayed in the Preview Pane and not open separately,
then you can print it.

You might just try copying and pasting the text into Notepad instead.
