Jim,
If you "double click to open" a Draft, the message is in
a composition window.
You can't print from a composition window.
If you view the message in the Preview Pane, you can
print.

Your ref here to preview pane alerted me to a change I
did make recently in View layout . I un ticked the
preview pane . I read somewhere that OE6 was better
behaved if the preview pane wasnt used I didnt realise
the implications of this as that appears to be the reason
for the print icon to grey out . You try it ! Send any
old email to the outmail box to send it . If the preview
pane is ticked the print icon isnt greyed out
and you can print the email from the out box if its un
ticked its greyed out and you cant print ............
Thats is WEIRD

Thank you for all you ideas to fix this problem . My
computer maybe isnt so pesky after all

Bye

I have a Preview Pane icon on my OE Toolbar.
View, Layout, check Toolbar.
Turn the Preview Pane on or off by clicking on the icon.
I turnoff the Preview Pane to delete spam and then turn it back on to read
email and newsgroups.
