You can't stop it from going there, but you can keep it from being opened.

Change your computer clock back and check your mail. Leave that message in your inbox and it should remain at the top. I'm guessing you are concerned about unintentionally displaying a message. |

You don't need to go through that much trouble and your method wouldn't
work anyways. The Inbox has the Received column and the date/time there comes from the mail server when it received the message. The date/time on the sending computer is not used. If you want to have a message with a modified received date, - Do a File, Save As to save a sample message to an *.EML file, or drag-and-drop the message to Windows folder - Then edit the file in Notepad or other text editor. In this case change the date in the first (top most) "Received:" header - Save the file. - With OE5+, you can drag-and-drop the message back to an OE folder. . -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "DanR" wrote in message et... I just tested my method and your right about the "receive date" but the "sent" date did indeed show 4/30/2009 as date sent. I clicked on the "sent" column and my inbox is now sorted with the 2009 message on top. I sent myself another normal email message and it is under the 2009 message in my inbox. So my 2009 test message is anchored at the top of my inbox as long as I'm sorted by "sent". I suspect the same thing would happen with OE as "received" is not available as a column. Someone could post after changing their computer clock and their message would be stuck at the top. In fact I've seen this happen and it's very annoying.
