The free trial Panda antivirus software deleted all the emails in the inbox
of my outlook Express and some local folders I created without warning. (Sent Items folder and a few local folders are fine.) No emails were infected with virus. I found the dbx files of the local folders in C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\. However, no matter which .dbx I double-clicked on, it always brings me to the current inbox. I have uninstalled the antivirus software and installed some more Windows updates. It's been more than a week after the software deleted my emails. Is there a way to recover them? I tried System Recover today but it didn't do anything. I have Sony Vaio XP Home. There are some important old emails that I don't have back up. Panda software offers no help. Your help to recover them will be very appreciated. Thanks, JL042906 |

I found the answer in the other email -replied by Michael Santovec and was
able to recover my old email from .dbx sucessfully. Thank you so much. You make my day! I was upset for 2 weeks! Here is the solution for people have the same problem. Follow the instruction in the following link to create a new working folder, rename and replace it with your old .dbx file to recover it! Such a simple trick tormented me for weeks!
