For the past 2 weeks almost all of the emails have been coming in as
attachments. I went to ToolsOptionsRead tab and the box in front of plain text and it is already unchecked. Has AT&T made any changes in settings? Outgoing emails are just fine. Shirley |

Shirley It could be being caused by your Antivirus software, try disabling the email scanning of in & out mails, it serves no useful purpose, keep your main definitions up to date. Are you using AVG Antivirus? It is known to do this. -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. OE. [DTS] |

I have AVG on 8 machines that I control, not one has ever turned email into attachments.
Where did you get that information. " mac" wrote in message ... "Shirley Azvedo" wrote in message ... For the past 2 weeks almost all of the emails have been coming in as attachments. Then again, I have been here for a year or two Richard. Take a look at this thread as an example: http://makeashorterlink.com/?V4DD52B0D Their are hundreds to pick from, but searching AVG & Attachments makes it difficult to locate them, not that I need to? :-) -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. OE. [DTS] Interesting, link, and true. But it has nothing to do with "AVG causes email to come as attachments" I have been a year or two also Mac. I taught computer topics at a college for 6 years and have consulted for over 15 years. Your observation just does not have any backup. |

Hi Richard, I did originally say "It *could* be being caused by your Antivirus software", the OP said "coming in as attachments" could possibly mean "coming in with attachments"? We will see. I only run 4 machines at home with AVG, and I have never seen the behaviour either, but as I said "It is known to do this". BTW, I worked for 33 years in the coal mines. Your & my history are not the question :-) An interesting discussion Richard, thanks. mac |

If you haven't already done it, shutdown and restart Windows. This
sometimes fixes the problem. - If you still have a problem then try Start, Run and enter: regsvr32 inetcomm.dll - If that doesn't help, then see if the fix in this article applies: OLEXP: Message Appears Blank and Has an ATT000XX.txt or ATT000XX.htm Attachment http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=312351 - If that doesn't help, then in Internet Explorer, select View, Encoding and uncheck Auto-Select and choose instead "Western European (ISO)". Then try reading your messages. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Shirley Azvedo" wrote in message ...
