OE6 is stuck downloading a specific message on one (and only one) of the
computers that I use to access my email account. My other computers all seem to be working fine when accessing the same account via OE, so I assume something is screwed up on this particular computer. Is this a problem with one of the dbx files on this computer, or could it be something else? What's the easiest way to recover? I've read that one possible solution is to delete pop3uidl.dbx...will that work and/or is there a better way? Thanks! |

It may be a very large message.
Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that eats up CPUs and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Reboot. If that doesn't do it: This could be a very large message that can't be downloaded. If you have access to WebMail via your ISPs Website, you can go there and delete it. Another option is to create a rule: Where the message size is more than size Delete it from server Click on Size and choose 10 KB OK then Apply Now. This should remove it. You can keep the rule, but make sure you go back and uncheck it. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Sam S." wrote in message ...
