My Sister asked if there was a way to highlight a word or a sentence a
certain color (like using a highlight pen on regular paper) so that it shows up when sent to the recipient. I can't find a way to do it in OE6. Anyone have any ideas? I know you can do this in say, MS Word, and then cut and paste the message into an email and it will remain highlighted (yellow or whatever) when received. Is there some way of doing it in OE without having to use two programs like Word or whatever? Thanks! flat_top27 |

You must be using HTML. With that said, when the message is complete and ready to send, use the left mouse key and highlight the word, or phrase, from right to left and then change the color. The highlighted words will change color. The recipient must be reading in HTML to see the color though.

Thank you for your reply .. but I was wanting something that would highlight the page behind the text like a highlighter does on plain paper. Something like this. I did this in Word and then pasted it in my reply. Is there a way to do this in OE6? I know in order to 'see' what I did in here you have to view in HTML. Not sure if news groups (like this one allow viewing like that or not..... but guess I'll see. But if it isn't viewable, 'Something like this' is marked in yellow. The text is still black, but shows up against a yellow background. The word 'this' below it is on a green background with the text still black... Hope it shows up, but if not, at least you will get some idea of what I'm trying to find out for her.

You can do it with a SPAN tag indicating a background color.
The tag should use language similar to the following: SPAN style="BACKGROUND: yellow"You can do it with a SPAN tab indicating a background color./SPAN Just make sure the SPAN tag surrounds the text you wish highlighted in a HTML formatted message. You can see the specific HTML code by highlighting this reply, then press Ctrl+F2. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped.
