More of the usual from MS. I think they released the KB before the patch. Which patch? KB918651 had been released on May 17 2006 and as Revision 1.0 (according to the vanished KB article). The article didn't even mentioned an hotfix (or another update) for KB911567 either. That may have been one of the errors with KB911567/918651... This is going from bad to worse. Anyone surprised? Come on, really? Bye, Freudi |

Well, you missed some registry "hacks" which should "fix" i.e. the X-Unsent "issue" after having KB911567 applied according to KB918651. Since they didn't work at all, you've missed nothing in reality ;-) Bye, Freu"Having saved the KB article before it has been pulled g"di |

Hi, I'm not sure, if anyone is aware of the newly released MSKB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918651/en-us yet, which deals with the KB911567 issues. In case, someone noticed the article already, I'm curious whether the workaround mentioned in there for Windows XP SP2 ("hacking" the registry) has been the resolution for the template/X-Unsent: 1 issue after having KB911567 applied. I tried it here and found that it does *NOT* work :-/ Monitoring the registry accesses with Regmon doesn't show any query for the key mentioned in there either. I would really like to have a confirmation whether it's working and in case it does, under which circumstances. If it isn't working anyhow, I would like to urge the guys and girls with a more or less direct line to MS ('s wastepaper basket) to use that one and insit on a cleary- fication of the article. TIA, Freudi |
