Default OE6 unsafe attachments

A friend sent me some photos he took as an email attachment but instead of
photos OE6 displayed the following message: "OE removed access to the
following unsafe attachments in your mail..."
All the attachments were named "short cut to so and so" and had the file
extension ".ink". That's a new one on me. Google search says this is a
"tablet PC digital ink file". Weird- I am pretty sure he sent it from a
desk top pc. Friend may not be attaching them correctly? Any help.
