XP/SP2? The two most common reasons for what you describe is disruption of
the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), and bloated folders. More on that below. They will eventually become corrupted. Create your own user defined folders for storing mail and move your mail to them. Empty Deleted Items folder regularly. Dave,
Before going through what I just sent, are you sure you didn't switch identities? The missing accounts do not fit in with the missing messages. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... XP/SP2? Did you do a search for *.DBX files? How large are the files that you
found? An empty DBX files is typically around 59 KB. What version of Windows are you using? If you logon to Windows with a different user id, you get an new empty OE with no accounts or mail messages. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "David White" wrote in message ... I think your only chance now would be the extract from disk feature of
DBXpress. See www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/ steve "David White" wrote in message ...
