... The Subject provides an intro to your post. The BODY of your post gives details. Your body was empty so you gave no details. Could be you want to know how to cancel your own posts. Could be you want to hide some posts. Could be you want to delete some posts from OE's local message store so you won't see them again. We don't know because your post was not just vague but instead totally vacant. -- How to post: http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 http://www.newsreaders.com/guide/netiquette.html http://www.faqs.org/faqs/usenet/emily-postnews/part1/ |

Some newsservers allow you to /request/ the deletion of your own posts. The
MS newsserver does not, even though you're posting to this newsgroup using your ISP's newsserver. Dunno about the uophx newsserver. With your post highlighted, click on Message Cancel Message. Whether it works or not is another question. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org SHERRY MANZANO wrote: I would like to know how to delete a message from Newsgroup. As PA mentioned, cancels are usually not honored. They can be abused by malcontents because it is possible for someone other than the post's author to submit the cancel, so they cancel someone else's post that they don't like, disagree with, or want to quell. You'll have to ask RoadRunner if they honor cancels in their newsgroups service. Also, you could visit the "control.cancel" group to see if your cancel post ever appears (that's where the cancel requests go). If your newsserver doesn't carry that group, there isn't any cancelling. Note: That is a huge group so make sure to limit the number of downloaded messages to 1000, or less, and get the next bunch if your cancel post is farther down in the list. If the control.cancel group doesn't exist, your newserver doesn't accept cancels. If the group exists, those cancels may not be honored. If you need to correct a prior post, just reply to your own post with the corrected information (and indicate what you corrected). -- __________________________________________________ Post replies to the newsgroup.
