'msnews.microsoft.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

It is possible to receive this error message when you have antivirus e-mail
protection or personal firewall software enabled on your computer. Disable
the av email protection.

'msnews.microsoft.com' is a news server (NNTP) and you are trying to
access it as a POP3 server. That doesn't work.

You need to contact your ISP for the name of their POP3 server. Enter
that information in OE at Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Servers.

Someone at the U-Conn must know how to help. There is no email at
'msnews.microsoft.com', and it is most certainly not a POP3 server; it
is accessed through port 119, and it serves "news articles", which are
the posts you are reading here.
