....if I post a 1 Mb photo from my 'My Documents" file to someone, my
post is then held in the 'sent' box of OE with the attachment included. The photo now presumably exists twice on my hard disk - or does it? In other words, if I delete the message afterward, does the 'used' part of my hard disk drop by 1 Mb? Or does the photo only 'exist' once on the hard disk and thus the deletion of the message make no difference? thanks! Ðª× |

If you have the same picture in My Documents and in an e-mail, it is using
twice the space. If you delete it from an e-mail, you still have to compact your folders to get the space back. Likewise, if you have the same photo in three different folders on your HDD, it is using space for each instance. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ wrote in message ups.com... ....if I post a 1 Mb photo from my 'My Documents" file to someone, my post is then held in the 'sent' box of OE with the attachment included. It exists twice. Same as if it was in two different folders in My Documents.
If you delete it from Sent Items, you will get back the 1MB of space used, but only after you compact your folders. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Armando Manãs" wrote in message ... escreveu na mensagem ups.com... ...if I post a 1 Mb photo from my 'My Documents" file to someone, my post is then held in the 'sent' box of OE with the attachment included.
