For one of two users, when composing a new email message, the from field is
missing. A work-around was found by creating a new mail account for that (limited) user. The problem goes away only when both accounts exist for that user. Closing *either* of the accounts causes the missing from field. It's confusing, having two accounts, so I'd like to eliminate the work-around and fix the problem. Anybody got any ideas? TIA. Larry |

If you only have one account, there is no From Field as it is a moot point.

Larry Why would you provide a field to choose between accounts when there is only ONE account? That's like asking which door you want to go through but there is only one door so there is no choice. -- __________________________________________________ Post replies to the newsgroup. Well, the user couldn't send a message. She got an error message stating
something to the effect there was no sender specified, and that condition lasted for several days, maybe a week, until we stumbled onto the fact that creating a second account brought up the from field, and then she could send messages as usual. After getting your responses tonight I went back to her account and removed the second email account so that I could get the specific error message to include in this reply. Well, after removing the second account, the from field went away but messages can be sent now. Long story short....Nevermind. Thanks for yours and Bruce Hagen's responses to my original post. You may have had a damaged identity and creating a new one solved your
problem. It is not uncommon. Glad it is resolved. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Larry" wrote in message ... Well, the user couldn't send a message.
