I can not seem to send e mail with attachments that can be opened. I am
trying to attached a document to my e-mail, but receivers can not open them. They all say they can open everyone else's. Do I have something set wrong somewhere? -- thanks beck |

Would you care to let us know the type of file, by extension, that you are
trying to send? It may be as simple as the recipient not having the appropriate viewer installed for the type of file you are sending. Without those details, it's hard to be helpful. If it is a document file, how is it formatted? Are you using Lotus Notes? -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. Sorry, I am very new user. It is a document that I typed in wordperfect. I
was doing ok, until I changed virus program. I have since changed back to original virus program, but I still can not get these people to be able to open my e-mails. I was hoping that it was some sort of security setting on my end. -- thanks beck "Jim Pickering" wrote: Would you care to let us know the type of file, by extension, that you are trying to send? It doesn't add any protection anyway. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP, OE/WM Please reply in newsgroup. |

It sounds like your correspondents are having problems opening a WordPerfect
document. See the info at this link for some possible help: WPDOS - Using WordPerfect Files in Microsoft Word: http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/wptoword.html -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. Thanks, in the rare case that receivers can "read" my email with attachments,
they say they can not "copy", does turning off virus protection for email cure that problem also? -- thanks beck "beck" wrote: I can not seem to send e mail with attachments that can be opened. Your anti-virus wouldn't affect their ability to "copy".
If the problem is that they can't copy some text from your document, it could be some security setting within your document or restriction in their viewer application. For example, Acrobat PDF files can be set so that recipients can't copy text or print the document. I don't know what settings Word Perfect might have. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "beck" wrote in message ...
