Thanks for your quick response. After searching for .dbx files, I found that
yesterday's "missing" OE message store folder, containing everything that was missing had somehow moved itself into a subfolder of one of NewsBin's (a binary newsreader) subscribed newsgroups folders - a location on a completely different physical drive from where OE's message store is kept. A true mystery - but I imported them to their proper location and all seems well. Hmmmm... Thanks -- Bob Jared "Alias" wrote: Search for .dbx on your computer. These files are hidden in Win 2000 and XP. If you still have the sub folders, import them back into OE using File/Import/Messages. If you have Norton checking emails, disable it.
