Default Broken or non working Html links within OE6

In emails to my address, anything that has links to outside sites, do not
open IE7, but a My documents folder or nothing at all. It is happening in my
grandfathered in hotmail account and a pop3 email as well. This is getting
frustrating as IE7 is my default browser and OE6 is default email client.

I have Mcaffee virus and firewall, I know they are not part of the problem
as I had shut them all down when I downloaded IE7. Does anyone know what to
do to solve this problem?

See the information below. Since you are using a beta program, your
questions should be addressed to an appropriate newsgroup for beta
participants.

[Control Panel Add/Remove Programs ] Set Program Access and Defaults
Browser: IE *must* be chosen here if you're running IE7 Beta 2 and want such
links to work.

Beta testers of IE7 Public Preview are asked to post their comments to
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup.

On the web:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...orer. general

In your newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...plorer.general

Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped.

Please stick with one (1) of your other previous threads in this newsgroup or IE General newsgroup so we all know what's been already suggested and what you've already tried: http://groups.google.com/groups/sear...rt=0&scoring=d

To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of previous message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup.

Thank you.

Reposting all information:

1. [Control Panel Add/Remove Programs ] Set Program Access and Defaults Browser: IE *must* be chosen here if you're running IE7 Beta 2 and want such links to work.

2a. http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx; then...

2b. http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx

3. (WinXP) [Control Panel Add/Remove Programs ] Set Program Access and Defaults Email Select OE here.
